Our fish

From lake to plate

Remarkable taste

We take enormous pride in rearing our sustainably farmed Regal Springs® tilapia to the highest standards and go to great lengths to preserve the delicate flavour. Since the taste of tilapia is strongly determined by what it eats, we feed our fish on a high-quality, vegetable-based diet. This commitment to taste has earnt our tilapia a two-star Superior Taste Award certification from the International Taste Institute twice in a row.

Premium quality

Our tilapia fish are frozen immediately after processing to ensure the best possible quality — locking in their mild flavour and keeping the flesh firm, flaky and succulent. In this way, we also reduce CO2 emissions during transport, as the frozen fish can be transported on lower-emission container ships rather than air freight.

Pristine environments

We raise our premium tilapia fish in deep, oxygen-rich freshwater lakes, which are regularly monitored by our own teams and independent laboratories. We only use a maximum of 1% of the water surface to ensure the ecosystem of the lake is preserved.

Natural breeding

Under constant quality control, we ensure our tilapia fish develop in a healthy way without chemicals and additives. We use a special rearing method that allows our fish to swim against the current like wild-caught fish, enabling them to grow strong. This approach provides the optimal conditions to bring delicious, protein-packed tilapia to the table — ideal for a protein-rich diet.

Tilapia fillets

Our tilapia fillets are quick and easy to prepare — perfect for a meal for the whole family. The boneless fillets offer a delicious and versatile alternative to other protein sources, such as poultry or other fish species.

Tilapia loins

Hand-filleted from the best and largest part of the fish, our premium tilapia loins are rich in flavour and have a firm texture. Ideal for grilling, they can also be prepared in the oven, steamer or pan.

Tilapia portions (tenders)

Thinner than the loin and very versatile, our fillet portions are cut from the smaller part of the fillet. Why not try breading our portions and serve them as fish sticks to tempt fussy children? Our tenders are also ideal for salads, soups, tacos and tapas.

Whole tilapia fish

Our whole tilapia fish are cleaned and descaled before being packed for shipping. Delicious and versatile, they can either be cooked whole or filleted by hand before being grilled, smoked, baked or fried.

Nutritional value

High in protein but low in calories, fats and carbohydrates, our tilapia fish are ideal for consumers looking to add more fish to their diet or wanting to eat lighter meals.

Our tilapia are rich in vitamin B12, vitamin B3, vitamin D and magnesium. This means our tilapia can be enjoyed as a key protein source in a variety of delicious dishes, forming part of a healthy, balanced diet.

Zero-waste policy

Our whole-fish policy ensures we use as much of every tilapia as possible and throw virtually no part of the fish away.

Skin

Gelatine made from the fish’s skin is largely used in the food industry. It can also be processed into leather or offered as dog treats like chewing sticks.

Belly

The belly flap is considered a delicacy in Taiwan and has been fried there for years in a marinade of soy sauce, sugar and ginger. Delicious!

Scales

Even the scales have another purpose for us! Once dried and processed, they can be turned into collagen or gelatine.

Fish meal

Everything that cannot be used for a single benefit is processed into fish meal, which can then be used in pet food.

Fish oil

A by-product of the production of our fish meal, fish oil can also be used for pet food. Part of our own truck fleet is even refuelled with our fish oil!
